Bringing Structure to the Stage

HR Support for a Small Production Company

Client Type: Independent Theater + Film Production Collective
Project: Policy Development + Onboarding Workflow

The Situation:
A small but growing production company was hiring freelancers, creatives, and tech staff across multiple projects — but had no consistent process for hiring, onboarding, or paying people on time.

The Approach:
I helped the team draft their first set of crew onboarding templates, contractor agreements, and payment tracking systems. We built a simple intake form for new hires, added a shared calendar for project timelines, and created a baseline set of values to include in each contract.

The Outcome:

  • Freelancers were onboarded faster and paid more consistently

  • Producers had a repeatable process they could use across projects

  • Team culture became more respectful and communicative
