Running a Bar Like a Business

Ops Support for a Busy Nightlife Team

Client Type: Local Bar + Nightclub with 20+ rotating staff
Project: Schedule + Communication Systems Overhaul

The Situation:
With frequent staff turnover, multiple bar managers, and chaotic shift coverage, the team struggled to keep track of who was working when — and important updates often got lost in group texts.

The Approach:
I set up a centralized scheduling system using free tools (Google Calendar + forms), created weekly internal newsletters for staff updates, and coached the owners through implementing fairer time-off and coverage request policies.

The Outcome:

  • Fewer missed shifts and last-minute scrambles

  • Team communication improved across roles and levels

  • Owners felt less overwhelmed — and more like actual leaders

“Jordan helped us stop running things from our phones and actually build a real system. It saved us time, money, and so many headaches.”
